COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS REGARDING LASER HAIR REMOVAL:

Q.      How does Laser hair removal work?

A.      Hair grows in cycles.  The laser destroys all hair that is actively growing.  The laser kills the bulb of the hair, so that hair cannot grow back at this site.  The client is scheduled every 4 - 6 weeks when a new crop of hair is actively growing.  It takes approximately 8 of these sessions to destroy all hair bulbs that the laser can get.

 Q.      Can hair be removed from any area of the body?

A.      Yes, we have both men and women clients removing hair from all areas of the body.

 Q.      I am embarrassed about my hair growth.  May I come in without anybody knowing that I do this?

A.      Our staff keeps all information very confidential.  We never share names of our clients or any information regarding them.  All files are kept in a locked and secure location.

 Q.      Can you treat any hair color with the laser?

A.      The laser seeks color and performs best with brown and black hair.

Q.      Who performs the laser hair removal and what is their training?

A.      We have trained medical professionals performing laser hair removal.  Our nurse practitioner and RNs went through vigorous training before beginning to treat clients.  They received individual training from the company from which we purchased our laser.  After the completion of this, they participated in an intensive workshop that provided them with one-on-one training with medical professionals who have been performing laser hair removal for several years.  All laser staff go through on going laser seminars as well as on-line seminars.  The current staff has between 1 year and 7 years of experience with laser.

 Q.      Does it hurt?

A.      Our nurses ice the area which effectively numbs the area from any sensitivities.  Most clients experience an occasional feeling similiar to a rubber band snap.  Many clients have no sensitivity.

Q.      How long does the hair removal last?

A.      Long-term studies show that 10 years after Laser Hair removal has been performed, 85% of the hair is still gone.  Laser has been studied for 10 years.  As more research becomes available, it is very likely that the these study results will increase to 15, 20 years and more.

 Q.      Is it expensive?

A.      The price is dependent on the area from which you are having hair removed.  Prices range from $55 to $360 per treatment, with the price dependent on the area to be treated.  We gladly accept Visa, MasterCard  or Discover, as well as your personal check with proper identification.

Q.    What do I do for blonde, gray or light red hair?

A.    There is a product called “Epi-Gel”.  Epi-gel is a two-step gel that is applied after the  area has been waxed. This treatment usually takes 8-12 sessions and is priced from $25 per treatment on up depending on the area.

Q.      How can I find out more?

A.      Our nurses offer free laser hair informational sessions.  Call us at 815-220-0979 to schedule your appointment and find out more information.
