Botox has been used therapeutically for over 15 years to treat a variety of medical conditions and has been approved
for treatment in more than 75 countries. Botox with dosing specific to facial
concerns was approved as “Botox cosmetic in 2004.”.

What is the difference between BOTOX Cosmetic and Collagen fillers?
A.
Frown lines are caused by overactive facial muscles. Fillers correct the
wrinkle by adding volume around the muscle with injections. BOTOX cosmetic is
intramuscular, blocking the chemicals that cause facial muscles to contract, thereby relaxing them.

What is the BOTOX cosmetic procedure like? Is it painful?
A.
It is a simple treatment consisting of the doctor deciding exactly how much and where to administer BOTOX cosmetic,
followed by tiny injections. You can resume normal activity immediately. The needle used is the finest available, causing very little discomfort. Most patients compare the sensation to a bug bite. Overall
the discomfort is minimal and temporary

When will I start to see results?

The general rule is 3 – 3 – 3. It takes approximately 3 days
to see the beginning of a difference, 3 weeks to see the full improvement and 3 months that the results will last. However, some patients report that the more they do BOTOX cosmetic, the longer the results last.

BOTOX cosmetic can be injected into any muscles from the eye area on up. It
makes wonderful changes in the lines between the eyes, the crow’s feet, and the lateral lines on foreheads.

Our medical Director is a Board Certified Obstetrician and Gynecologic surgeon.
He is also the medical director at Butterfly Landing Medi-spa. He underwent
intense training in Botox Cosmetic in addition to being a surgeon and Obstetrician for 12 years. Our nurse practitioner, Kay Kinsella is also trained to do Botox cosmetic procedure.
