Many factors play a role in the development of spider veins--career, pregnancy, hormones and heredity. More than 20 percent of women have some form of spider veins and are four times more likely than men to have them.

What is a Spider Vein?
Spider veins are formed by the dilation of a small group of blood vessels located close to the surface of the skin. They can appear anywhere on the body but are more commonly found on the face and legs. Typically, they will pose no health hazard but may produce a dull aching in the legs after prolonged standing. Varicose veins are abnormally swollen or enlarged blood vessels caused by a weakening in the vein's wall. At this time, we are only treating spider veins, not varicose.

Mild Treatment on legs- $250 per treatment
Moderate Treatment- $300 per treatment
Extensive Treatment- $350 per treatment

For best results, 4-5 treatments may be necessary.
During vein therapy, we utilize the technology of the Cutera Laser. No injections are necessary. Energy is delivered and absorbed by the targeted vein, causing thermocoagulation of the blood vessel. The heated vessel walls collapse and adhere together. The bloodless vessel is subsequently absorbed by your body.

Laser used for procedure. Cutera Cool Glide.

After 5 treatments.

SOME THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU HAVE A TREATMENT

v  Completely shave the area the same day as treatment.

v  Make sure you are not sunburned.

v  NO sun exposure for 2 weeks prior to treatment.

v  Areas with tattoos cannot be treated. Avoid any irritants to the skin: Microdermabrasion, Retin-A, Renova, Benzoyl Peroxide, or glycolic acid products for at least 72 hours prior to each treatment.

v  Discontinue aspirin and/or Plavix, garlic supplements and all herbal supplements 5 days prior to treatment. (If prescribed by a doctor, get approval to discontinue.)

v  Remove all makeup from area to be treated.

v  Photographs will be taken at each visit.

If treating your legs, many clients are more comfortable wearing shorts during treatment.

SOME THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW AFTER A TREATMENT

v  Resume normal activities.

v  Bruising, local swelling and some tenderness are completely normal after treatment. Bruising may be evident for up to 4 weeks after treatment. Other side effects are rare but may include: redness, blisters, swelling, crusting, pigment change (lighter or darker) or scarring.

v  If you experience blistering or crusting, treat the affected area with antibacterial cream such as Bacitracin or Neosporin. This creates a chemical barrier and will help healing and prevent any scarring.

v  If there is swelling, wrap ice in a cloth and apply to affected area.

v  Use a Vitamin K cream twice a day for 1-2 weeks to speed healing.

v  Avoid all sun exposure for at least 7 days after your treatment. Always use SPF 30 or greater when out in the sun for at least 4 weeks.

v  You can shower the next day, but avoid very hot water, hot tubs, and saunas for 1 week.

v  10 days post-treatment, begin lightly massaging treated area. This will speed healing and prevent “staining”.

v  Remember, you will not see immediate results. This usually occurs over a 3 week period and in some cases may take up to 6 weeks.

Skin care myth:  "I only need sunscreen when I am out in the sun for extended periods of time".
Skin care truth: You need to apply an SPF 30 or higher every day, rain or shine.
