SOME THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW AFTER A TREATMENT
v Resume normal activities.
v Bruising,
local swelling and some tenderness are completely normal after treatment. Bruising may be evident for up to 4 weeks after
treatment. Other side effects are rare but may include: redness, blisters, swelling, crusting, pigment change (lighter or
darker) or scarring.
v If
you experience blistering or crusting, treat the affected area with antibacterial cream such as Bacitracin or Neosporin. This
creates a chemical barrier and will help healing and prevent any scarring.
v If
there is swelling, wrap ice in a cloth and apply to affected area.
v Use
a Vitamin K cream twice a day for 1-2 weeks to speed healing.
v Avoid
all sun exposure for at least 7 days after your treatment. Always use SPF 30 or greater when out in the sun for at least 4
weeks.
v You
can shower the next day, but avoid very hot water, hot tubs, and saunas for 1 week.
v 10
days post-treatment, begin lightly massaging treated area. This will speed healing and prevent “staining”.
v Remember,
you will not see immediate results. This usually occurs over a 3 week period and in some cases may take up to 6 weeks.
